Temple of the Dog is a full-service grooming salon and wellness-focused space for dogs, located in the heart of Logan Square.
We provide expert grooming for all coat types, with a focus on health, comfort, and long-term condition, and an added level of detail where it matters most.
Our approach is calm and low-stress, using gentle handling and positive reinforcement to create a more relaxed experience for every dog including those with sensitive skin, aging needs, and more complex grooming requirements. We work closely with veterinary professionals when additional care is needed.

Tara founded Temple of the Dog in 2012, inspired by her black Labrador, Mickey, and a desire for better, more thoughtful grooming care. She remains closely involved in the day-to-day, guiding the team and maintaining the high standards the salon is known for.

Grooming since 2007, April brings extensive experience with a strong focus on safety, patience, and overall care. Known for her attention to detail and calm approach, she is one of the salon’s most highly requested and consistently praised groomers.
